How Does It Work?
Step 1
Initial Consult: Once you choose your advising package, we will contact you to schedule a video call to meet you personally, talk about your aspirations, set goals, and establish a strategic plan.
Editing Documents: Establish deadlines for pending documents and begin working closely with the editor to prepare your personal statement (PS), medical student performance evaluation (MSPE, Dean's letter), MyERAS Common Application Form (CAF), and letters of recommendation (LORs).
Initial Guidance (before MyEras opens): Make sure you obtain the ERAS token, upload LORs correctly, open the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) account, and troubleshoot problems that arise.
Step 2
Second Consult: When MyEras opens you will have questions. We will talk again to answer these questions, monitor the progress of your application and upload final edited documents (personal statement, MSPE, LORs, ERAS CV).
Match Season Guidance (September to February): We will be available during normal business hours to talk about specific programs, application strategies, interviews, specialty-specific recommendations, and troubleshooting any special circumstances that arise.
Step 3
Final consult: Once you've attended your interviews, we will discuss your Rank Order List (ROL) to see which program best suits your needs and aspirations.
Fail to Match Plan: If you fail to Match in the main residency match, we can consult again to come up with a working plan for SOAP and/or for next year's Match cycle.

Meet Our Founder
Dr. Alvaro Ramos has dedicated a major part of his medical career to helping students match into residency in the USA. As an International Medical Graduate (IMG) himself who initially matched to internal medicine, then dermatology, he knows all the challenges of applying to U.S. residency. He is also very passionate about medical education, especially USMLE tutoring; he is the author of the book Dermatology for the USMLE and important residency match articles for IMGs.
As Dr. Ramos says, "It’s been a long and arduous journey: medical school, the USMLE exams, external clerkships, and now residency application. Everything you have worked for during the past four to five years will be summed into the MyERAS residency application. I have witnessed firsthand how little mistakes in your application can be detrimental in the residency selection process."
"I created Residency Match Advising to make sure your application is optimal and you can Match where you deserve. We want you to have peace of mind, knowing your application is at its best. You can sit back, relax, and wait for interview invitations. Most importantly, I want to make sure medical students can access top-notch, personalized consultation and editing services at an affordable cost.”
